Tottenham V Manchester City

Tottenham

Tottenham is looking forward for revenge against Manchester City when the two teams meet on Sunday. While Antonio Conte is recovering from surgery, here’s the lineup assistant Cristian Stellini could lead.

Spurs, who was defeated by City remain in the hunt for Champions League qualification but have little more margin for error. Sometimes,it was felt as if they are approaching errors but three points would really speed up the pressure on Manchester United and Newcastle.

Harry Kane, one of the Spurs best has scored 199 Premier League goals in 303 games, and would be the third player to reach 200 after Alan Shearer (260) and Wayne Rooney (208). A goal in this game would see him reach the milestone in fewer games than the latter and former. Harry Kane scored yet again in Tottenham’s last league game. His goal against Fulham was enough to give the side a 1-0 away win.

Tottenham have conceded at least twice in each of their last five Premier League home games. They also conceded the first goal in each of these five games, last doing so in six straight home league games between April-September 2003.

Tottenham lost four of their last five Premier League home games. They have also lost their last two at home, last losing three in a row in September 2008.

Manchester City

Man City’s Riyad Mahrez has been involved in more Premier League goals against Tottenham than he has any other opponent with 11 – 7 goals and 4 assists.

Manchester City striker,Erling Haaland clearly brings goals but the champions have certainly seen their level drop this season. Haaland has scored 25 goals in 19 Premier League appearances this season in which only two players have ever scored more in their debut Premier League campaign; Andrew Cole (34 in 1993-94) and Kevin Phillips (30 in 1999-00).

Manchester City have lost two of their last five Premier League away games, as many as in their previous on the road. They last lost back-to-back away league games in May/August 2021, the second of which was at Tottenham.

Tottenham vs Manchester City is scheduled for a 4.30pm GMT kick-off time on Sunday 5 February, 2023 at The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Tottenham and City last met in the league last month, with City coming from two goals down to beat Conte’s men 4-2 at the Etihad and fans are looking forward to this exciting and memorable experience.

Prediction: 1-2
